Anoyhaseyo, Korea! (17Sep 07)

Another trip to theme park! Lolx.
This time round, it's the Yongin Everland (also the filming site of one the very few Korean comedies I've seeen, The Red Bean lady, featuring one of my favourite Korean actress Zhang NaLa.)
We were in close contact with wildlife in the Safari World and had fun at the Amazon Express, where we screamed for nothing. lolx.
Lions can be shy too..

The Ligers - "hybrid" of a lion and tiger. =o Highly protected.

Jeson recommended some rides to me. Double rock spin: an exhilarating thrill caused by ruthless spinning and a powerful rhythem. That's what the brochure said, but I've no idea what it's all about. My aunt bravely accompanied me for the ride. Here's how we look like before it started.

We held each other down after that. We thought it's a 180 degree spin, but it turn out to be 360degree. I felt like a piece of cloth in the washing machine.

My aunt took a rest after that. But her two other friends were very nice to accompany me for the Eagle's fortress ride (something like roller coaster). It was not as exciting as the previous one because it's all covered in the forest. It's fast and high but you won't get to see the surrounding.

Then, I took the pirate's ship alone - the highest I've ever took. I'm glad there was a big group of korean students with me cos the view was breath-taking.

It's a pity we didn't comb the place. Time factor again. Anyone to accompany me on my future trip?

Recognise this two? There were featured in the show:)

Fun, for me of cos. The rest were worn out.

Following which, we went to the kimchi school. Many pics of Janggeum (Jewel in the palace) were displayed there. Not only did we get to learn to make kimchi, we also wore korean traditional costumes. (I look funny in it, I think the females should have plaited our hair to look better.)

Anoyhaseyo, Korea! (16Sep 07)

The news announced the night before that we are entering into the season of Autumn. It's happening later and later in recent years. Perhaps the power of Global warming.

Third day of our trip.

First stop, heritage site, a palace. Some of its site were used for Dae jang Geum (Jewel in the Palace). Do you find any of it familar?

There DO store miso there! It smelled sweet. In the past, Koreans would store their spices or kimchi in these vats and bury them underground for fermentation. There were no fridge so they treat the underground like one.

Next stop, the Lotte World! It's a theme park. Unfortunately, the outdoor theme park is unavaliable due to the weather. It's also one of the filming site for Stairway to Heaven.

Being the youngest in the group, I guess I'm the happiest when it comes to theme parks.

This! Any recollection? It's still the same except that the painting on the wall by TaiHwa (step-brother of the main actress in the show) is gone.

Happy Birthday, Aunt. We celebrated for her in Jeju Island with a surprise birthday cake. All thanks to Jeson :) The cake's nice, I think it's made from the local fruit, which I'd forgotten its name, that's similar to orange. (Lolx.. it coincides with hx and clarence's birthday too.)

It's big with an ice skating rink in the middle of the multi-storey indoor theme park. The folk museum with historical exhibition, miniature village, etc, looks interesting too. A few hours isn't enough. I hope I can get to enjoy a day there. I'll be back, hopefully:)

Anoyhaseyo, Korea! (15Sep 07)

A relaxing day. Visited the 5th biggest park in korea. Check out the scenic view~
The cresent bear, named for its white cresent look-alike chest.

The temples in Korea are usually loacted by the sea or, like this one, up on the hill. It was raining so the Buddha looks like he's crying. Anyway, the weather wasn't good during the whole trip.

Following which, we went to check in at the Yongpyong Ski Resort (the venue where most of Winter Sonata's scenes were taken). But seriously, it's summer! No ski-ing, but they utilise it as a 9-hole golf resort.
There wasn't much activities there since it's not winter. So we took a 20mins cable car to the mountain top, at 1450m above sea level.
"I'm not afraid..I'm not" - that's what on my mind.

The first thing that greeted us at 1450m above sea level - Posters of Winter Sonata.

I'm getting an overdosage of it. Anyway, I don't have much interest in it either. My fave korean drama is still Gaeul Dongwha (Autumn in my Heart) by Song Seung-heon and Song Hye-kyo!
Okay, back to the mountain top.

Meet my guide - Jeson. Though he looks like a Chinese and speaks fluent Chinese, he's a true Korean from Busan! Impressive. (After this trip, I've decided to take up Korean Language after I complete my Jap course and obtaining at least a JLPT 2.)

And here's all the 16ppl travelling together.

Doubt you can see it, but the male lead poster's mouth is damaged. Maybe too many of his fans came to kiss him (even if it's just a poster).

Here's another "mini museum" of Winter Sonata, right in front of our hotel.

At the exact spot where winter sonata actor/actress had a meal. The dishes that they ate are display on the table too. The photo frame on the window showed the moment they sat there. (Professional. They even provide evidence of their presence.)

Costumes of their school uniform in the drama. Should be a duplicate, I guess.

Not much activities but we had fun taking pictures:)
